Finally, some good news on the climate. The International Energy Agency (IEA) reports that CO2 emissions from energy use and industry could peak in 2023.
This is partly due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine—which slowed gas exports from Russia and sped the global phase-out of fossil fuels—and partly due to China’s record investment in clean power.
It’s also due to the hard work of climate-action groups like Stand.earth, which drives large-scale solutions to the climate crisis by protecting forests, stopping fossil fuel projects and reducing demand for oil, gas and coal around the world.
Stand.earth delivers. But for it to continue, we must stand with Stand.earth.
