UPenn, Chairman of Board Resigns in Disgrace After Antisemitic Testimony Before Congress

Wall Street Journal: The president of the University of Pennsylvania and the chairman of its board of trustees resigned Saturday, capping a tumultuous week at the Ivy League school stemming from statements the president made about antisemitism at a congressional hearing Tuesday. President Liz Magill will stay on until an interim president is appointed, and afterward will remain a member of the law school faculty, according to a letter sent from board chairman Scott L. Bok Saturday afternoon. Soon after sending that letter, Bok announced he had tendered his own resignation, effective immediately. The resignations mark a stunning fall for college leaders while raising questions about the power major donors have over institutions and just where schools should draw the line on protecting free speech, generally considered a bedrock of academia (Wall Street Journal). Andy Ngo: The UPenn president has resigned after making disturbing comments during a congressional hearing. The MIT & Harvard presidents similarly refused to say whether students who called for Jewish genocide were in violation of university policies (X). Elise Stefanik: One down. Two to go. This is only the very beginning of addressing the pervasive rot of antisemitism that has destroyed the most “prestigious” higher education institutions in America (X).

Nothing funny about the skit, just cringe. Post Millennial: Saturday Night Live received backlash after their opening sketch mocked Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) for her line of questioning regarding anti-Semitism on college campuses for the presidents of three Ivy League universities, which led to one of them resigning afterward (Post Millennial). Greg Price: After three university presidents were universally panned for their testimony about anti-Semitism on campus, SNL decided that Elise Stefanik was the one who embarrassed herself (X). Producer for Blaze Media JVT: SNL depicted Elise Stefanik (the woman standing up against antisemitism) as dumb, and the antisemitic university presidents as rational. You can’t make this up (X). Hamas Soldiers Surrender to IDF Stating Terror Leaders are “out of touch”

Times of Israel: IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari confirms many Hamas members have surrendered to troops in the Gaza Strip today, saying they have revealed intelligence information on the terror group’s functioning amid the ground offensive. “From the interrogations of the terrorists who surrendered, the following intelligence has emerged: The situation of the operatives on the ground is difficult, and the Hamas leadership, led by (Yahya) Sinwar, denies the reality even though it is updated on the details,” Hagari says. “The operatives complain that the Hamas leadership is out of touch with the tough situation they are in on the ground” (Times of Israel). Reporter Emanual Fabian: Leaked footage from the northern Gaza Strip today shows an apparent Hamas operative slowly placing an assault rifle on the ground, as dozens of Palestinian men surrendered to IDF troops (X). Fox News: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday called for Hamas fighters to surrender, declaring it the “beginning of the end” for the terrorist group (Fox News).

Iran Proxies Attack U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, Biden Does Nothing

Katie Pavlich: The U.S. Embassy in Baghdad was attacked Friday morning by Iranian backed proxy groups operating in Iraq. Dozens of rockets were launched with many landing close to the embassy compound. Luckily there were no injuries or casualties. Iranian proxies have launched nearly 100 attacks on a number of U.S. targets around the Middle East since Hamas launched its war on Israel October 7 (Townhall). Reporter Steven Nabil: Green Zone and the U.S Embassy compound in Baghdad , Iraq were under attack within the last hour, 10-12 blasts heard (X). Robert Greenway: Attacks against US forces since 10/17 entering triple digits and now appear to include our embassy compound in Iraq. Appeasement invites aggression and the escalation continues unchecked (X). Associated Press: There are roughly 2,500 U.S. troops in Iraq and around 900 others in eastern Syria, on missions against the Islamic State group. In both countries, Iran has militias loyal to Tehran (Associated Press). Daily Wire: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly told Biden that if the U.S. does not take action against the Yemen-based Houthi terrorists, Israel will, which comes after the terrorist group has repeatedly targeted shipping vessels with ties to Israel (Daily Wire).

United States Places Sanctions on Iranian Officials Who Tried Assassinating American Government Workers

With a weak President Biden at the helm, they must think it is open season on Americans. Daily Wire: The Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced this week new sanctions against officers in Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) for their efforts to assassinate U.S. government officials. OFAC sanctioned Majid Dastjani Farahani and Mohammad Mahdi Khanpour Ardestani for having “recruited individuals for various operations in the United States, to include lethal targeting of current and former U.S. Government officials as revenge for the death of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Qods Force Commander Qasem Soleimani.” The Treasury Department said that Iran was involved with aggressively targeting and stifling opponents and dissenting voices around the world through detention, torture, and assassinations both at home and abroad. The Islamic regime targets everyone from activists and journalists to foreign government officials (Daily Wire). Former Advisor on Iran Gabriel Noronha: The Treasury Department announces that Iranian intelligence agents are recruiting assassins to kill current and former U.S. government officials and surveil religious sites and businesses (X).

United States Stops UN Resolution Calling for Ceasefire in Gaza

Times of Israel: The United States vetoed a United Nations resolution Friday backed by almost all other Security Council members and many other nations demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, where Palestinian civilians are facing what the UN chief calls a “humanitarian nightmare.” US Deputy Ambassador Robert Wood criticized the council after the vote for its failure to condemn Hamas’s Oct. 7 massacres in Israel in which thousands of terrorists killed about 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and took about 240 hostages, or to acknowledge Israel’s right to defend itself. Wood said the resolution was “divorced from reality” and “would have not moved the needle forward on the ground.” He declared that halting military action would allow Hamas to continue to rule Gaza and “only plant the seeds for the next war.” 13 of 15 council members back call for truce after 2 months of war; UK abstains, citing failure to condemn Hamas; Israeli envoy thanks US for ‘standing steadfastly’ with Israel (Times of Israel).

As Biden Meets with Donors in Hollywood, Pro-Palestinian Protestors Accuse Biden of Genocide

Townhall: While President Joe Biden rubbed elbows with Hollywood elitists, protesters gathered outside to rally against his stance on the Israel-Hamas war. Over the weekend, Lefty pro-Palestine advocates, including Black Lives Matter members, waved Palestinian flags and chanted “From the river to the sea.” They called for the end of all Israelis while Biden wined and dined at the expensive homes of designer Michael Smith and former ambassador to Spain James Costos. Other protestors held signs that read “LA Says No to Genocide Joe, “End All U.S. Aid to Israel” and “Come November we’ll remember.” This comes as Biden’s approval rating hit a new record low, reaching 37 percent— down two points since October and the lowest since he became president in 2021 (Townhall). Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) Urges Republicans to Give Up Border Security Push to Pass Ukraine Aid Package

Politico: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will get one last chance to prevail on senators to cut a deal on funding Ukraine’s defense against Russia before the chamber is scheduled to go home for the holidays. Zelenskyy is scheduled to address all senators at a Tuesday morning meeting. The Senate is struggling to finish a deal that would marry Ukraine funding with new border restrictions. Senate Republicans last week rejected a standalone aid package that lacked a border deal (Politico). RNC Research: Democrat Sen. Chris Murphy claims if Republicans don’t give up their push for border security “in the next 24 to 48 hours,” then “Russia is going to march into Ukraine” and “China is going to be given a green light to invade Taiwan” (X). USA Today: In an attempt to revive the talks as time runs short, Biden said last week he is willing to make “significant compromises” on border policy if it means Congress can pass Ukraine aid. Murphy said he thinks “the White House is going to get more engaged this week” on the border negotiations (USA Today).

Host of The View Claims Pro-Lifers Should Stop Seeking Life-Saving Medical Treatment Saying God Willed Them to Get Sick

Life News: It’s no secret that the liberal ladies of ABC’s The View love abortion and despise pro-lifers. Earlier this year, they brought on far-left extremist Jane Fonda who told them that her final solution to pro-lifers was to “murder” them, which they did not push back on. Well, on Friday, co-host and pro-choice radical Sara Haines suggested that pro-lifers should stop receiving life-saving medical treatments because it was “God’s will” that they die, and that they were hypocrites for doing so. “It’s also not a universal truth when life begins,” she falsely proclaimed. Her swipes at pro-lifers grew more disturbing and dangerous as she declared that pro-lifers were hypocrites for receiving life-saving treatments for cancer and other ailments instead of just dying as part of “God’s will”: If it’s God’s will on the way in, it should be God’s will on the way out too. That brings into question are you taking heart attack medication? Are you treating your cancer? Are you dying when you said you should? Because if we’re going to argue about life in, then let’s be honest about life out. Don’t go to the hospital if you’re hurting because it is God’s will. Like, I don’t like the inconsistencies and the hypocrisy when people weaponize religion on this issue (Life News). Daily Caller: In a 2021 survey of 1,058 biologists, 96 percent agreed that human life begins at fertilization, the point at which sperm and egg fuse, according to the National Library of Medicine (Daily Caller).

Chicago Mayor Tries to Slow the Surge of Illegal Immigrants in City

AT least he acknowledges they are a problem. However, this is the wrong way to fix the issue. Fox32: Mayor Brandon Johnson’s administration has reportedly begun filing lawsuits over what it has described as “rogue buses” transporting migrants to Chicago. The Chicago Tribune reports that 55 lawsuits have been filed since new rules were implemented last month regulating when and where buses can arrive. The mayor’s office is now seeking the ability to impound buses that don’t follow the rules and fine owners up to $3,000. That ordinance will be discussed at next week’s city council meeting (Fox32). HotAir: The Mayor isn’t saying the quiet part out loud (yet), but what he’s really hoping for is some sort of “Remain in Texas” policy. We’re talking about basic transportation and the freedom of movement here. Certainly, the illegal migrants shouldn’t be free to move about in the first place and should really have been sent back to Mexico. But once they’ve been caught and released, they are being given that freedom by the Biden administration and they’re taking advantage of it. Many of them have heard that Chicago is a “sanctuary” city so they want to head north to take them up on their offer. Abbott’s buses offer a free and easy way to make the trip (HotAir).
