EmailTemplate-Responsive <[link removed]> Dear John??

It?s been another week where the Coronavirus has dominated the news.? We?ve
seen the dramatic losses in the stock market, the cancellation of so many
beloved sporting events, and Friday morning, we found out the first case of
Covid-19 has?been confirmed in Alabama.? According to the Alabama Department of
Public Health, this individual had recently traveled out of state and had
underlying health problems.?? The photo above is of FDA Commissioner Stephen
Hahn and myself greeting each other with an elbow bump at a hearing this week
rather than shaking hands.?? We have been having hearings like this to
determine exactly what federal, state and local health officials need to combat
the virus.?? Congress has already approved $8 billion and more measures are
coming soon.? The CDC announced that a little more than $8 million is already
being sent to Alabama.?? The state legislature has also committed $5 million to
fight the virus as well.?

Coronavirus Resources

We have put together a Coronavirus information page on my website.?? It has
links you can go to where you can get the latest information from both the
federal government and the state of Alabama.? You can find that page?here

Capitol Tours???????

Since first being elected to Congress, one of the greatest joys for me has
been to personally give tours of the Capitol Building to the hundreds of people
who visit our office each year. I make it a point, whenever possible, to take
people into the House Chamber, so they can see their government at work.? If
constituents have traveled all the way to Washington, then they deserve to get
a tour from their member of Congress.

For this reason, I?m extremely saddened and disappointed to pass along the
information that all Capitol Tours have been suspended until April 1st.? I know
that so many people have made plans to travel to Washington during their school
spring breaks.? We are making every effort to contact people directly who had
scheduled tours.

I have every confidence that tours will resume in the very near future.? My
staff and I will continue to give timely updates, not only on the status of
tour requests for the coming weeks and months, but also on the overall efforts
by the Federal government to combat the spread of the Coronavirus in our
country.?

?

???????????Sincerely,

???? <[link removed]>
