Trump Says He’ll Be a Dictator on ‘Day One’
-The Atlantic

This is not a drill, John.

Earlier this week, Donald Trump admitted on live television that he would be a “dictator on day one.”

This is the face of the Republican Party and the clear frontrunner for the GOP presidential nomination. Once he’s the official nominee, every Republican in Congress, including my opponent Mike Lawler, will line up squarely behind him.

If Trump wins the presidency, Congress will be the last line of defense to stop him.

It’s been made clear there are no Republicans left in Congress capable or willing to stand up to Trump and MAGA extremism. My opponent, Mike Lawler, worked on Donald Trump’s last two elections and continues to do his bidding. That’s why retaking our House majority is more important than ever.

We are three weeks away from entering the 2024 election year; there is no time to waste. Rush an immediate donation of any amount to help me flip NY-17, retake our House majority, and defend our democracy from a wannabe tyrant and his sycophants.

Donald Trump is spelling out exactly who he is and what he will do. His comments are not just a wink and a nod to authoritarianism—they are a promise.

But, make no mistake, the threat of Donald Trump isn’t just the man. It’s also Republicans in Congress like Mike Lawler, who have done nothing but enable his rise to power.

They enabled him when they fanned the flames of election denialism. They did it when they voted for insurrectionist Mike Johnson for House Speaker. They continue to do it by supporting the baseless and retaliatory impeachment inquiry into President Biden.

John, the line in the sand has been drawn. When voters head to the polls next year they won't just be voting for President and members of Congress—they will be voting on the survival of our democracy.

By aligning themselves with Donald Trump, Republicans like Mike Lawler abandoned the rule of law and the will of the people. Saving democracy means retaking our House majority, and that starts right here by flipping NY-17 and defeating Mike Lawler. Chip in whatever you can right now to help me get it done.
