Dear MoveOn member,

After Donald Trump was indicted in Georgia for his attempts to overturn
the 2020 election, a Fulton County Superior Court judge took the
unprecedented step of agreeing to permit cameras in the courtroom to
livestream the trial proceedings in full once they begin.^1

While we're pleased to know that the public will be able to get an
unfiltered look into Trump's crimes, we know Trump will try to use this
trial as a political rally to amplify his lies about a stolen 2020
election and falsely play the victim of political persecution. Trump knows
what a huge opportunity live national TV coverage will be for swaying
public opinion.

That's why MoveOn is planning to air hard-hitting TV ads during Trump's
trial to not only combat MAGA's lies about Trump's trial but to expose
Trump's criminality to millions as voters tune in to watch.

Trump is trying to turn his trials into a pity party, but he has another
thing coming. We have a golden opportunity to educate voters about Trump's
crimes and the GOP's complicity in his attempt to destroy our democracy.
So we can't afford to miss this moment.

But our team can do this only if we have enough resources,
John. Can you start a gift of $5 a month to help
air TV ads during Trump's televised trial and keep them going throughout
the trial?

Trump's Georgia trial is focused on his blatant efforts to overturn the
2020 election results. While Trump was charged with 13 felonies, among
those are ones under RICO—charges most commonly used to prosecute the
mob.^2

In addition, RICO allows prosecutors to tie together several defendants
and crimes, arguing that "all parties were working together in the same
criminal interest."^3

It's this key difference that has led several legal experts to conclude
Trump has the most to lose from his Georgia trial.^4

With 18 other co-conspirators being charged alongside Trump, Trump's
efforts to overturn the election are exactly what RICO targets.^5

Despite this and three other indictments, recent polling has shown that
Trump is either trailing just behind or even in front of President Biden
ahead of the 2024 election.^6

John, we cannot let Trump and the MAGA movement back into the
White House.

That's why we're launching a compelling TV ad campaign to air during
Trump's Georgia trial to remind voters of Trump's criminality and to
mobilize voters across the country against him ahead of the 2024 election.

Help us ruin Trump's pity party and join our fight to defeat him and MAGA
Republicans in 2024. Can you donate $5 a month to help
MoveOn air TV ads during Trump's Georgia trial and power MoveOn's critical
work to win in 2024?

Thanks for all you do.

Want to support MoveOn's work? Book bans have skyrocketed thanks to
right-wing state laws which have forced teachers to remove books from
their classrooms. In response, MoveOn is launching a "Banned Bookmobile,"
filling it with books that the far right has banned, and driving it around
to hand out those books, for free, in highly trafficked areas that will
attract media attention. To keep the Banned Bookmobile up and running into
2024, we need your help.

Will you start a monthly gift to power our critical work?
