With the eyes of the world on him, the president of the COP28 (the 28th annual Conference of Parties the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change) said that there's "no science" behind the need to phase out fossil fuels.

This is obviously delusional garbage at best or, more likely, corrupt propaganda. But coming from a so-called "climate leader," it is an absolute disgrace.
It's time to put REAL climate champions into power, starting right here at home. Add your name to pledge to elect people who actually fight to save the planet from the climate crisis!
Many were understandably shocked by the words of COP28 president Sultan Al Jaber, but the truth is he never should have been in a leadership position on climate. Al Jaber is the head of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, with an obvious financial interest in and track record of promoting climate-killing practices.
As the catastrophic effects of the climate crisis become impossible to deny, it is now in the financial interest of even the worst polluters to green wash their brands and claim to be leaders on climate. We cannot fall for these lies. The stakes are too high.
