FL-27 Newsletter Vol. 118, Issue #43 Dear Friends/Amigos, Greetings from sunny Buenos Aires, Argentina! I am here for the inauguration of libertarian economist Javier Milei as President of the Republic of Argentina. Milei is a steadfast advocate for liberty, small government, the rule of law, and a strong relationship with the United States. I look forward to working with President Milei from the Foreign Affairs Committee. On the homefront, my Dignity Act is gaining major momentum in Congress. A new report identifies just how much ONE provision of my bill would benefit the economy by. Now imagine the benefits of the bill as a whole. Read below for more! As always, share your thoughts with me by visiting my website at Salazar.House.Gov or by calling my office at (202) 225-3931. Sincerely/Atentamente, María Elvira Salazar U.S. Representative (FL-27) JAVIER MILEI IS THE NEW LIBERTY-LOVING PRESIDENT OF ARGENTINA Today, I had the pleasure of joining dignitaries from across the Western Hemisphere and Europe in Argentina where Javier Milei is now President. While Argentina boasts plenty of natural resources and is rich in human capital, socialism and big government ideology has prevented the nation from reaching its full potential. With President Milei, Argentina will embrace the necessary components of a free society: free markets, rule of law, and small government. Congratulations, President Milei! I look forward to working with you on the Foreign Affairs Committee! MARIA CORINA MACHADO IS VENEZUELA'S ONLY TRUE DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT! Venezuelans across the world have had enough of Socialism of the 21st Century. The people are ready for change, and they now have someone who can deliver it. On October 26, presidential candidate María Corina Machado secured a commanding majority of support from the opposition, solidifying her as the leader against Chavista tyranny. Since then, the dictator Maduro has tried to destroy her campaign by issuing arrest warrants for her closest political advisors while launching a sham referendum to annex part of Guyana. This can no longer stand. I introduced a resolution with members of the South Florida delegation to tell the world that María Corina Machado is the only legitimate presidential candidate in Venezuela. Congress must stand with the Venezuelan people. To read our resolution, click here. THE DIGNITY ACT WILL GROW OUR ECONOMY BY TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS! My Dignity Act is not just an immigration bill, it is a national security and economic bill. Our nation's broken immigration system doesn't just make us unsafe, it actually also costs us trillions in economic growth. A new report from the Bipartisan Policy Center found that the Dignity Act's provision to clear the backlogs for permanent residency cards (colloquially known as green cards) at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) would grow the American economy by almost $4 trillion dollars over 10 years. Remember, clearing backlogs is only ONE part of my bill. The Dignity Act is this generation's opportunity to unleash the American economy by taking away talent from our enemies abroad and putting Americans first at home.
