America's Promise Alliance - Making the promise of America real for every child
Update from America's Promise - March 13, 2020
Dear Friend,
In response to the coronavirus outbreak, America’s Promise Alliance wants you to know that your health and safety is our top priority. In that vein, we are taking measures to keep our Alliance members, partners, contractors, grantees, convening participants, and staff healthy in support of public health efforts related to COVID-19.
On Monday, March 16th, America’s Promise will shift to a virtual workplace. The entire APA team will still be fully available by phone, email, and video conference. APA staff will not travel through April 17, at which point we will reassess the situation. In order to further prevent the spread of disease and protect community members across the country, we’ve also decided to postpone all APA-supported convenings through mid-May. This includes our How Learning Happens community convenings.
We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we respond to the rapidly changing situation. America’s Promise will continue to monitor the latest news, and we will be in regular communication about plans, expectations, and rescheduled events. For reliable and up-to-date information about COVID-19, please see resources from the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Early next week, we will be sending a collection of resources that our various Alliance partners have been putting together to help communities think through how to support their young people in these challenging times.
As always, we will keep up our important work on behalf of all young people and we’re looking forward to partnering together in the coming days. Please protect yourself and stay safe!

Best regards,
Dennis Vega
