This is infuriating, John.
While millions of people are trying to keep their families safe from coronavirus by using potentially life-saving hygiene products like wipes and hand sanitizer, Amazon and their third-party vendors are massively gouging prices. They’re charging $299 for a bottle of hand sanitizer that normally costs $9.
This is not only unethical, but it’s putting millions of lives at risk by making these products unavailable to those who need them the most, like those who are sick and quarantined and don’t have the option of going to a store.
We need to fight back. Please add your name now to demand that Amazon stop pandemic profiteering and set fixed prices on the critical supplies people need to stay healthy.
Tell Amazon: Stop Pandemic Profiteering →
People are scared, John, and understandably so. The coronavirus pandemic is a serious crisis and too many of our leaders have utterly failed to step up and support our communities through this challenge.
To make matters worse, companies like Amazon are taking advantage of a serious crisis to turn a profit and as a result they’re making it harder for families to afford the basic necessities needed to be healthy and safe.
This price gouging particularly impacts women who are not only the main buyers on Amazon – but also most often the caregivers who are responsible for caring for sick loved ones, keeping a family running, and everything in between.
