Good morning,
Last night, Texas Scorecard hosted the 2023 Conservative Leader Awards dinner. Other groups give awards and baubles to politicians, we give engraved swords to grassroots activists! These are men and women who give of their time and energy in their communities to lead the fight for a better Texas.
This year's Conservative Leader Award recipients included:
Melissa Beckett
Christin Bentley
Dr. Mary Talley Bowden, MD
Brandon Burdon
Cindi Castilla
Pat Greer
Lauren Heese
Richard Heizer
Jeannette Hormuth
Fern McClaugherty
Miriah Sachs
Tracy Shannon

We also presented the Torch of Freedom to an individual who, at great personal sacrifice, was willing to shine a light into the dark recesses of corruption. This year, the Torch of Freedom went to Bonnie Wallace for her work in organizing a statewide movement to take on pornographic materials being made available to children in public libraries.
