John, What a time for the very existence of our national borders to be under assault! At a time like this, can you imagine the courts stripping the federal government of control over who crosses our borders? Just last week, I wrote to you how a federal court blocked one of the most important tools the U.S. can use to fight mass migration across our borders. Fortunately, the Supreme Court blocked the lower court's ruling from taking effect. It did not actually overturn the lower court, but rather only allowed the Trump Administration to proceed with enforcement until it could issue a ruling. As I wrote you, tens of thousands of immigrants waiting to claim asylum have been amassing at the Mexican border but held back by the Remain In Mexico policy. If they are allowed to enter, most will just disappear into the interior, never to be heard from again. I hope the U.S. Supreme Court will ultimately rule in support of the policy... but, of course, you know that even the Supreme Court is narrowly divided as we head into another presidential election. If the courts do not rule in favor of enforcement, there will be a huge new wave of migration and caravans, as tens of thousands of new people come in with generally flimsy asylum cases. We would lose control of the border again! John, as long as COURTS are setting U.S. immigration policy instead of CONGRESS, everything will always be up in the air. Huge loopholes in old outdated laws will always be exploited. We will never get control of immigration unless Congress is forced to do its job! John, I know many of you have a lot of other concerns right now, between your own personal health and safety and the financial panic. Please don't jeopardize your own financial security! Courts are certainly out of control, although the U.S. Supreme Court has lately been a bright spot on immigration rulings. Administration policies that we know have so far been effective could be now turned upside down by a change in the presidency. I don't just mean this election; I mean any presidential election in the future. For instance, Joe Biden celebrated several Super Tuesday victories by promising that if he is elected president, he would seek a "pathway to citizenship" for all 11 million or more illegal aliens in this country. Our goal can't be about the next election; we must convince BOTH parties that Americans demand an end to the immigration crisis, not worsening it! Let me be clear: we are NOT raising money for candidates. Both presidential campaigns will have more than enough money, with probably way over a billion dollars. We work to "flip" elected officials, to make sure those we have represent their constituents. The billionaires who want cheap labor have their voice in Congress.
