John, before
he was Speaker, Mike Johnson was a lead architect behind House
Republicans’ efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

Now that he’s wielding the power of the Speaker’s gavel, he just announced
that House Republicans are blurring footage from the January 6 Capitol
insurrection. Whether this is an effort to obstruct the Justice
Department’s investigation of the rioters who ransacked Congress and
attempted to overturn the election, or to shield the rioters' identity
from their friends and neighbors, one thing is clear: he is doing the
bidding of Trump and his MAGA enablers.

Doctoring footage while hypocritically telling reporters, "We want the
American people to draw their own conclusions." The dangerous duplicity
from MAGA Republicans just smacks you right in the face.

Some Republicans called the rioters "normal tourists." Others spread
conspiracy theories that the Trump supporters charged with crimes were
actually undercover law enforcement agents. But they know that Trump’s
MAGA supporters were responsible for this attack — and they’re doing
everything possible to shield them from accountability.

Republicans, led by their new Speaker Mike Johnson, will tell any and
every lie they can to defend the indefensible — all while preparing to
subvert yet another presidential election next year.

I did my duty by serving as the lead impeachment manager in Trump’s first
Senate trial — while Mike Johnson worked on his defense team.

I upheld my oath of office on the January 6 Select Committee and
investigated the worst attack on our nation’s Capitol since the War of
1812.
