Our Office Is Telecommuting
Temporarily Due to COVID-19
Dear friends, colleagues, partners,

As a prevention agency with a team of highly professional prevention specialists, Prevention Action Alliance values sound public health measures. With the outbreak of COVID-19, also known as coronavirus, we understand that every citizen is at risk and we support and value Governor DeWine’s decisive prevention measures to flatten the curve of this pandemic and slow the progression of this disease.

In the spirit of the Governor’s recommendation, today we are announcing that Prevention Action Alliance will close its physical office operations on Monday, March 16, and move to a remote working situation. The full PAA team will still be accessible through emails and phones during our normal working hours of 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. You may also contact us at [email protected].

If you wish to reach us by phone, either email the staff member to set up a scheduled call or call our offices, 614.540.9985, and leave a voicemail for the appropriate person. Voice messages will be alerted in emails to our staff so your call will be responded to as usual.

We have elected to evaluate this decision on a weekly basis to determine the best course of action for the well-being of our employees and all Ohio’s citizens. We will keep you updated.

Here are some things you need to know about upcoming events. We are canceling all our events between now and April 15th.

Events to be held after April 15th are not canceled at this time; however, we will reevaluate whether to continue with or cancel other events in the coming weeks and will provide regular updates.

At this time, the following events have been canceled:
  • Advanced Ethics
  • Problem Gambling 101 & Prevention Ethics
  • The G.A.P. Network Regional Summit – Southeast (Zanesville)
  • Statewide Prevention Coalition Association meeting

We are still taking registrations for all other events.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at [email protected] or call us at 614.540.9985. We will regularly share information on our website, in emails, and on social media as it becomes available.

If you’d like general information about COVID-19, we recommend consulting with your local health departments, calling Ohio’s COVID-19 hotline at 1.833.427.5634, and visiting these websites:

Thank you for your understanding and patience. Extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures. In the spirit of prevention, we encourage you to examine your working environment to balance your work needs, your health, and the health of those around you. It is important to take care of yourself and we encourage you to visit Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) - Mental Health and Coping During COVID-19.

Let us continue to work together, keep communications strong, and keep all of Ohio safe, strong and healthy.

Be well –
