John,
Like you, we’ve been closely monitoring the news and government updates for guidance on the coronavirus (COVID-19). Given its rapid spread and the danger it poses, New American Leaders has decided to suspend all programs through April 30. Our hope is that we will be able to reschedule some of these trainings later in the calendar year, and supplement with online resources in the meantime.
At this time, the following trainings are cancelled:
- Ready to Lead Colorado
- Ready to Lead Ohio
- Ready to Win
- Boss Ladies Atlanta
- Boss Ladies Austin
This is not the email we wanted to send, especially during this critical election year. However, we want to ensure that you, the NAL Team, and our communities are safe, healthy, and ready to keep organizing and mobilizing through Election Day and beyond.
Moments like this underscore the need for #PeopleLikeUs to serve in elected positions as leaders we can trust to put the wellbeing of our communities first. As always, we will support those who want to run or are governing with phone calls, video chats, and even in-person meetups once the outbreak has subsided.
While this is a small setback in our movement to empower this new generation of leaders, it will not stop us. Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for updates on training opportunities and schedules, innovative ways to manage campaigning in this moment, and leadership examples by New Americans in office.
If you have seriously considered running for office in 2020 and would like to discuss your questions or receive coaching, please reach out to [email protected] or directly to one of our team members.
Thank you for being a member of the NAL family. Stay healthy and safe—we look forward to working with you to shake up politics as usual!
In solidarity,
Sayu Bhojwani
Founder and President
