Did you know we’re celebrating International Volunteer Day this week, Community?
International Volunteer Day is all about the power of collective action. It’s a special day to come together and put the work in to better our shared space. Today is a reminder that we are all we need.
Things have been busy since we won our historic election last month and I took the oath of office just a few days ago — but we’re never too busy to help out in our Community.
For the last five years we’ve worked together to make a difference in District Four.
Time and time again, we’ve flipped the script. From investing millions in Black communities to providing thousands of new jobs through the San Diego Workforce Partnership, we’ve never let a single opportunity to do better slip by.
While you’ve already given our Community so much, today marks a special opportunity to help by lending a hand.
This Volunteer Day, I hope you’ll keep helping our home grow.
Thank you for your selflessness,
— Monica Montgomery Steppe
