Hi friend,
Right now, we're dealing with a mental health emergency in our country.
Too many Californians are suffering from mental health challenges without the resources or ability to seek help.
Across the country, 1 in 5 adults in the United States have a serious mental illness that interferes with their professional, personal, and financial life. And last year, the suicide rate reached the highest level in over 80 years.
Health care is a basic human right, and that includes mental health care. Equal access to mental health services is not negotiable. That's why we're taking bold steps to reinforce mental health parity laws, striving for a future where everyone's well-being is protected.
My vision for expanding access to mental health care in CA-30 involves comprehensive support, including:
- Stable housing to keep people safe and off the streets.
- Wraparound mental health support.
- A 24/7 mobile behavioral health team.
- The development of a single-payer healthcare system to eliminate financial barriers to care.
Imagine folks getting the help needed to rebuild their lives, with the security of a place to call home. We can achieve this brighter future, but we need to work together.
Friend, let's challenge the stigma and invest in a brighter, more resilient Los Angeles. Will you join us in this important journey to ensure mental health care access for all by powering our movement with a donation today?
Telehealth transformed mental health care during the pandemic, providing care quickly and accessibly. Now, we're investing in broadband expansion, ensuring top-notch mental health care is accessible to all, regardless of location.
We are making this a priority because anyone experiencing a mental health emergency should be able to access the care needed without barriers and stigma. Innovations like telehealth save lives, and this is just the beginning.
Wraparound mental health support + 24/7 mobile behavioral health teams = a brighter future for our district. Let's work together to make it happen! Join us today.
POWER OUR MOVEMENT FOR MENTAL HEALTH
With gratitude,
Mayor Sepi Shyne
