$6 Billion for Iran is $6 Billion for Hamas

Recently, I spoke on the House floor in support of H.R. 5961, the No Funds for Iranian Terrorism Act, to freeze $6 billion the Biden Administration agreed to release earlier this year in an ill-advised deal between the United States and Iran. I was pleased to see this bill overwhelmingly pass the House.

Iran is the world's largest state sponsor of terrorism, including funding Hamas. The Iranian President has made it clear if he gets the $6 billion, he can spend it on funding terrorism, like Hamas, which is what Iran has always done. The Biden Administration’s response should be that they need to cut off Iran.

I will continue to fight for common-sense legislation like this bill to fight terrorism.

Over and over again we hear that saying, "evil prevails when good people do nothing." Unfortunately, antisemitism has been spreading throughout our country since the horrendous attacks by Hamas on Israel. 

You’ve seen silence from some of the heads of once-great universities, who are failing to protect their own students – not just Jewish students, but any student who wants to stand up for Israel's right to exist as a Jewish state.

This week, I joined Jewish students from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, New York University, University of Pennsylvania, and Harvard Law School to discuss the unacceptable rise of antisemitism on college campuses across the United States. 

It was great to host Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller in the Capitol recently to touch base on issues important to Tangi Parish families, including flood insurance and the economy.
