We knew that if we pushed these corporations, we would not only reduce carbon to address the climate emergency, we would also be creating thousands of jobs for the clean energy sector. A people and planet solution! Thanks to you these companies have made sizable renewable commitments! T-Mobile is aiming for 100% clean energy. Verizon has committed to 50%. Add in AT&T's recent progress, all three have become major corporate buyers of wind and solar power. In 2024, Green America will continue to push AT&T, Verizon, and other mega-corporations to adopt 100% renewable energy by 2025. As solar and wind sectors are rapidly growing, we are advocating that the new clean energy economy benefits those who have been disproportionately harmed by fossil fuels, specifically Black, Indigenous, and Latinx communities. This includes addressing unjust energy burdens on households, advancing community solar, and increasing racial and gender diversity in renewables. Green America is strongly encouraging corporate giants as they transition away from fossil fuels to ensure the renewable energy firms they use have responsible labor practices, support all communities, and are advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout their companies.
