   John –
It has been my top priority as a member of Congress to combat the housing
affordability crisis in the Golden State — and I will keep up the fight in
   the Senate.
Fifteen years after the housing bubble burst, thousands of Californians
are still struggling to afford a place to live while saving enough to
retire. We’ve made some important progress along the way, but there is so
   much more to be done:
    1. We’ve provided crucial support to veterans, seniors, students, and
       families across our state.
    2. Increased the availability of affordable housing throughout
       California.
    3. Expanded and created facilities serving individuals experiencing
       homelessness.
    4. Implemented measures to reduce poverty and food insecurity among our
       fellow Californians.
    5. Strengthened resources and support systems for those grappling with
homelessness, mental health crises, and addiction.
    6. Secured over $190 million in funds to boost housing affordability and
       combat homelessness in California.
And while I’m proud of the work we’ve accomplished, I recognize that our
work is far from over. We need to build a vast amount of new, affordable
housing, by providing new tax credits and a major new federal investment
in housing. And we need a national policy on housing, not the present ad
hoc approach that is leaving far too many people commuting hours to work,
   or worse, unhoused.
As a United States Senator, I’ll continue this work to address housing
   affordability and homelessness.
I believe that, by working together, we can ensure California has the
resources necessary to overcome these challenges and create more housing
   that is affordable for all.

Thank you for adding your name and being a vital part of our journey
toward a California where everyone has a place to call home.
