On December 7, 1941, our nation endured a horrific attack on the United States naval base in Pearl Harbor. We must never forget the valor and patriotism of the more than 2,300 sailors, soldiers, and civilians who died that day 82 years ago.
Honoring our veterans is personal to me – my father, Malcolm McLane, was a World War II veteran and prisoner of war. On this anniversary, and every day, we thank our veterans, active-duty service members, National Guard and reserves, and military families for representing the best our country has to offer.
We will forever honor the sacrifice of all service members and their families.
