New Orleans DSA is mobilizing in this time of crisis. We know that any concessions that the city or the state may make will be easily revoked when the crises recedes and will be designed to protect capital without concerns for this risks workers will be asked to take.
So we know we need to fight back. This is a call to action. We need the help and solidarity of everyone able to give it to protect ourselves and each other! These are the immediate steps we are taking:
- Organizing a mutual aid network - chapters across the country have begin to do things such as shop for the immunocompromised and share supplies. We'll need everyone who can offer solidarity to share what they can to help each other through this.
- Making Demands and Organizing - We know that any relief offered by the city or the state will be a concession that can easily be taken back unless we organize. We are developing a list of demands to force on local officials and an organizing plan to make it happen.
These plans are being developed right now and we need your help. Can you offer rides or other solidarity? Can you reach out to your neighbors, coworkers, and comrades and agitate them to action? Can you help us pressure officials?

Updates
To protect our spaces all meetings in the near future will be held by zoom videoconferencing. This includes our April General Meeting. Please look out for more details about that, check the events page of our website, slack, and follow up with Committee Chairs for more updates on upcoming events.
In addition, all canvassing and actions are postponed at this time.
