Over the past 10 years, the Living New Deal has been building the first-ever interactive map and archive of all the New Deal built. So far, we’ve documented more than 18,000 unique sites—schools, post offices, government buildings, murals, parks, highways, bridges and more. We believe we’ve only just begun to uncover what the New Deal left to cities, small towns and rural communities nationwide. These public works gave jobs and hope to millions during the Great Depression and continue to serve the public to this day.
The Living New Deal’s website, webinars, publications, tours and preservation efforts reveal how the New Deal sparked a cultural and artistic renaissance and offers a model for our nation today.
It’s been 90 years since President Franklin Roosevelt launched "a New Deal for the American people.” We would be so honored to have your support as this landmark year comes to a close.
