EDITOR'S NOTE:

Happy Friday, Forwardists!

First, we have exciting news: we’re hosting an end of year celebration of all things Forward, and you’re invited. Join us on Monday, December 18th, as we review all the major victories of 2023 (can you say six new Forward officials in office?) and reveal our plans for 2024 to ensure it’s an even better year than this one. You can register here <[link removed]> and get a chance to talk to Forward party leaders, state team strategists, volunteers, and even Board members. We wouldn’t want to ring in the new year with anyone else!

Second, at Forward, we recognize that diverse communities across our nation often feel overlooked by traditional political structures. We’re building Forward in a way to address this—to give all Americans who want to work together to solve the problems facing them in their communities the means to do so.

To advance this goal, we have been recruiting individuals to lead committees tailored to the specific aspirations and needs of these communities. Our vision is to ensure that we are hearing and learning about the key issues facing different communities, and that Forward elected officials are working to deliver solutions for them. These committees will educate, recruit, and keep the Party as a whole accountable to delivering solutions within their communities.

Our first committee launch is for the Veterans & Veteran Families Committee. <[link removed]>The committee is actively working to help our state teams engage within this community, speak to issues that matter to veterans and their families, and provide a place for members of the community to learn about Forward from others who share their experiences.

For more information and to get involved, please visit our Veterans & Veteran Family Committee page. <[link removed]>

We'll have more committee announcements in the coming weeks.

Forward Party Gains Ballot Access In Utah With Focus On Democracy Reforms <[link removed]> | KSL

When asked how the Forward Party can appeal to voters who feel strongly about their side and are unlikely to be swayed, Teuscher said he plans to make the case that the reforms his party is backing will strengthen democratic institutions and make it more realistic for politicians to solve the biggest problems of the day.

"One thing that Forward recognizes is when the battle lines are drawn, it's a lot easier for the parties to just leave the issue unsolved, rather than actually making progress on it," he said. "If it's no longer an issue, (they) can't fearmonger and raise money off of that."

Teuscher said the group is already looking to field candidates for office for upcoming elections in the state, given that the filing deadline is in early January.

Moving Forward: Third Party Centrist Group Finds Its Niche In Nevada <[link removed]>| Las Vegas Review Journal

"For the 40 percent of Nevada voters who don’t identify as a Republican or Democrat, “this may be a way for you to actually be represented,” Yang said.

“The Forward Party wants to deliver what it is that Nevadans actually want to see in their communities,” Yang said. His party is not beholden to the left or right wings of the party, he said, nor to special interest groups.

“If you have a system where everyone’s vote counts, then your leaders will be more responsive to you,” he said. “And that’s the goal of the Forward Party, is to deliver that.

Forwardists Won Big At The Ballot Box This November! <[link removed]>

We had Forwardists on the ballot in seven states this November, trying to build a better, less polarized government from the bottom up. We are excited to announce that with your help we elected SIX Forwardists to public office! Being a Forwardist means looking for common-ground solutions that work for all of us. And that’s just what these six Forward officials plan to do.

- Connecticut: Danielle Chesebrough, Stonington First Selectman

- Maryland: James Kole, Laurel Councilman

- Pennsylvania: Seth Bluestein, Philadelphia City Commissioner

- Pennsylvania: Chris Woodward, Lower Heidelberg Twp Auditor

- Pennsylvania: Steve Zappala, Allegheny District Attorney

- Virginia: Suhas Subramanyam, State General Assembly

Does finding common sense solutions sound like it’s in your wheelhouse?  Do you want to help make a real difference in your community? Run for office as a Forwardist <[link removed]>.
