VOICES FOR PUBLIC TRANSIT

John,

We kicked off 2020 by sharing resolutions you can take to help bring attention to the need for increased federal investment in public transportation. In case you missed our resolutions, here is a roundup. We encourage you to jump right in:

  • Participate in Your Primaries or Caucuses—Voting is the fundamental way to engage in the political process and effect policy change. So, get out there and participate in the first round of voting in your state. During primary season, you can also attend campaign events or write a letter to the editor to help make public transit an election priority. > Read the blog.

  • Recruit Five Friends to Participate in Voices for Public Transit—We must make sure Congress, state leaders, and local officials hear the voters they represent speaking out for public transit. To ensure lawmakers everywhere hear strong support for public transportation, resolve to recruit five friends, family members, co-workers, or neighbors to sign up for Voices for Public Transit and get involved. > Read the blog.

  • Share Your Hopes for Public Transit Investment—Big advances in Congress and state legislatures begin with conversations back in local districts. You can help build momentum for increased public investment in public transportation by sharing your hopes for improved and expanded public transit. > Read the blog.

Throughout 2020, we must continue to make our voices heard even if it seems like not much is moving in Congress or our legislatures due to the elections. Please commit to our 2020 resolutions to help make public transportation an issue our candidates—and whoever we ultimately elect—cannot ignore.

Thank you,

Chad Chitwood
