If you're reading this, you’re in good company; last week, 18,471 people opened and read the Mississippi Center for Public Policy’s weekly Saturday email.

Of the 82,000 or so individuals that have signed up to receive this message, 22 percent on average actually open and read it each week. Overwhelmingly, they're in Mississippi (Being a new arrival in this great state, I won’t hold it against you if you aren’t!).

We also placed dozens of opinion columns in multiple state, national and international publications this year.

Why does having a mass audience matter?

We exist to advance the cause of liberty. Our mission is to help create a climate of opinion, as Milton Friedman very nearly said, so that “even the wrong politicians have to do the right thing”.

There are no shortage of progressive media organizations in Mississippi and America only too willing to spin false narratives, and present it as the news. On everything from school choice to tax cuts, free speech to Israel, progressive activists - masquerading as journalists - can always be counted on to misrepresent.

That is why having you read our email is so important. It allows us to connect with you directly about the changes Mississippi and America needs. I hope that you might share emails that you agree with, with friends and family to ensure that they too can be part of an honest conversation about how to improve our state.
