Friend,

We are in the midst of a serious public health crisis that requires our leaders to take swift action to save lives and curb the negative effects of this pandemic on our economy. As more news comes to light, it's increasingly clear that the Trump administration was woefully unprepared for this moment, and had its priorities in all the wrong places.

From the very beginning, Donald Trump downplayed the severity of COVID-19. He publicly contradicted health experts. He was more focused on preserving his political standing than he was on the health and safety of the American people.

Now, we're seeing the devastating impact of the administration's failure to prepare testing for this public health crisis. And the economy is in its most precarious position since the fall of 2008.

This failure of leadership is what happens when Donald Trump is allowed to govern with zero accountability. Everyone who has enabled him must reflect on that decision.

That includes our Congressman, John Katko, who endorsed Trump's re-election this year -- reversing his 2016 position that he would "never" vote for Donald Trump.

We cannot afford four more years of this administration. And we need leaders in Congress with the moral courage to stand up to its behavior. John Katko has shown that he is not that leader.
