Community, County Leaders Fight Planned Landfill in Silver Creek Area of Tarrant County

In northwest Tarrant County, community and county leaders are fighting plans for a landfill to be built near a natural spring.

Opponents believe the project would drive up traffic and pollution in the Silver Creek area to the west of Lake Worth.

Fourth Special Session Ends Without School Choice

With just days left in the legislative session, the Senate moved quickly to pass a last-minute change to law expediting challenges to election contests in constitutional elections.

Senate Bill 6 by State Sen. Bryan Hughes (R–Mineola) would lower the time period following an election that a trial can be held from 180 to 50 days.

Texas Joins Daily Wire and The Federalist to Sue State Department Over Censorship

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced that the State of Texas, The Daily Wire, and The Federalist are suing the U.S. Department of State and its secretary, Antony Blinken, for censoring American media. 

Paxton argues that the State Department has routinely intervened in the news market through its Global Engagement Center—which was initially created to combat foreign propaganda.

Tarrant County to begin design, planning for renovated $19.5M law enforcement training facility

Tarrant County Commissioners Court took its first step in a planned $19.59 million renovation of the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office existing training center Tuesday. 

Commissioners approved the agreement 4-1 with Precinct 2 Commissioner Alissa Simmons voting no.
