In St. Cloud, Governor Walz Continues Statewide Infrastructure Tour

On Tuesday, Governor Walz visited St. Cloud?s wastewater treatment plant as part of a?statewide tour?highlighting infrastructure needs ahead of the 2024 legislative session. Governor Walz was joined by Senator Aric Putnam, Representative Dan Wolgamott, and St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis.

?I?m traveling the state to tour the infrastructure investments that would make the biggest difference for our communities,??said Governor Walz.??St. Cloud?s Wastewater treatment plant provides an essential service ? one we often take for granted. We've got to make the investments to ensure our infrastructure remains safe and reliable for Minnesotans.?

Governor Walz, Governor Evers Request Federal Funds for Blatnik Bridge in Duluth


On Monday, Governor Walz and Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers announced their departments of transportation have requested over $1 billion in federal funding through the U.S. Department of Transportation?s Bridge Investment Program (BIP) to rebuild the John A. Blatnik Bridge between Duluth, Minnesota, and Superior, Wisconsin.

?The Blatnik Bridge is a critical connection point for transportation and commerce between Minnesota and Wisconsin ? and it needs an upgrade,??said Governor Walz.??I?m proud to partner with Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers as we urge our federal partners to support this project that will foster regional economic growth, bolster our national supply chains, and strengthen the reliability of our transportation network that serves hundreds of communities between our states.?


Lieutenant Governor Flanagan Travels to Puerto Rico for National Lieutenant Governors Association Meeting

On Wednesday, Lieutenant Governor Flanagan met with fellow Lieutenant Governors from across the country to discuss shared priorities and highlight how Minnesota is leading the way.?

Governor Walz Orders Flags at Half-Staff in Honor of Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day


Governor Walz proclaimed Thursday, December 7, 2023, as Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day in Minnesota and ordered all Minnesota flags to be flown at half-staff at all state buildings from sunrise until sunset on Thursday, December 7, 2023, in honor and remembrance of those who died during the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor and those who sacrificed their lives for liberty and freedom during World War II.

?Over 16 million people served in the U.S. Armed Forces during the four long years of World War II,??reads the proclamation issued by Governor Walz.??It is fitting and proper to remember the sacrifices of all who served in defense of our nation during World War II, especially those who paid the ultimate price and lost their lives in defense of the liberties that Americans enjoy.?
