Howdy Texan –

I thought I'd take a moment to share what's been going on in Washington and Texas' 31st district.

ON THE DOCKET:

  • Mobile Office Hours in Hamilton County
  • Standing Up Against the Green New Deal
  • Anti-Semitism on College Campuses
  • What do you think?
  • Congressional App Challenge Winner

THE BRIEF:

HAMILTON COUNTY MOBILE OFFICE HOURS

Today, I hosted mobile office hours in Hamilton County. Constituents had the opportunity to talk with me one-on-one, get help with a federal agency, and learn about the services my office offers. I had great conversations about the anti-Semitism in higher education, border security and transportation project needs in the area. Thank you to everyone that came out.

Congressman Carter greets constituents at the Hamilton County Mobile Office Hours.

STANDING UP AGAINST THE GREEN NEW DEAL

President Biden is attempting to impose a de facto ban on the sale of new vehicles that use gasoline and other liquid fuels and mandate the sale of electric vehicles as part of his radical Green New Deal agenda. This week, I supported the Choice in Automobile Retail Sales Act that would stop Biden's EPA from finalizing, implementing, and enforcing any ban on gas vehicles. I will always stand up to protect consumers' choices and their pocketbooks.

ANTI-SEMITISM ON COLLEGE CAMPUSES

This week, presidents from MIT, Harvard, and the University of Pennsylvania testified in Congress about the rising anti-Semitism on college campuses. These presidents failed, after many chances, to say that calling for the genocide of Jews was considered harassment on their campuses. This stunning and despicable display speaks to how radical progressivism has rotted America's higher education institutions. These university presidents should be fired. Their responses embarrassed their institutions and dehumanized Jewish students. If you missed the exchange, click here

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

What is the number one issue you hope to see Congress take up in the new year?
Border Security
Inflation
Government spending/National Debt
Gun Rights
National Security
Competing with China
Veterans Policy
Parents Rights

CONGRESSIONAL APP CHALLENGE WINNER

Last weekend, I hosted the 5th Annual Congressional App Challenge ceremony to announce the winner of TX-31's competition. The App Challenge is a competition that encourages students to learn to code and create a unique app. This year, my office received 18 submissions, and the award-winning SkillsUSA team at Temple College served as judges. Congratulations to Texas' 31st district winner Aariv Modi, from Round Rock High School. His app, SpellSmart, helps students make practicing their spelling fun. Representative Carter named Aariv Modi as the winner of the 2023 Congressional App Challenge.

As always, thank you for taking the time to stay updated on what's happening in Texas' 31st congressional district. Follow my Facebook and Twitter accounts for more updates.

Representing you and Texas in the United States House is an honor and privilege.
