John, Emerge women keep on WINNING, and we’re not slowing down! Our alums are blazing new trails in politics to achieve historic victories and build the representative government we need to see.

Jacqueline Coleman (Emerge KY) won reelection to the lieutenant governor’s office! As the FIRST woman to hold this distinction, Coleman embodies Emerge’s mission to elevate community-driven candidates who deliver for the people they serve. A former educator and a rural Kentuckian, Coleman is working nonstop to improve access to quality education, mental health services, and economic opportunities for all. The Kentucky governors' races typically forecast the national elections, which bodes well for Democrats! 

Adele McClure (Emerge VA) won her election to become the FIRST out Black LGBTQ+ woman to represent Northern Virginia in the House of Delegates. Steeped in community activism and bringing the lived experience of surviving houselessness, McClure will serve as a committed advocate for Virginians impacted by systemic barriers. Alongside her Emerge sisters, she’s already helped flip the Virginia legislature fully blue and set the pace for national Democrats in 2024!

In important suburban and exurban counties where Democrats need to perform well in 2024 to re-elect Biden-Harris, Democrats cleaned up. Emerge school board candidates Dr. Lorita Copeland-Daniels in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, and Heather Reynolds in Central Bucks, Pennsylvania ran on a slate where Democrats were undefeated.
