I spoke at this week's Homeland Security Committee Member Day hearing on the impacts of the border crisis on our community, from unaccompanied minors being separated from their parents to fentanyl pouring into our neighborhoods. According to the OC Sheriff’s office, from 2021 to 2022, fentanyl seizures quadrupled to 450 pounds, and in 2022, OC Sheriff seized more than 405,000 pills suspected to contain fentanyl. This is 25 times the amount seized in 2021.

Behind these startling numbers are horrific stories of neighbors, family, and friends impacted by or no longer with us due to this crisis. We must act, which is why I’m leading the Comprehensive Southern Border Strategy Act to secure every mile of our border and protect our communities.

The CCP's targeting of those who call them out for the Uyghur genocide isn't limited to within China's borders.
