December 8, 2023
Dear Washingtonians,
The holiday season is here and that means one of my favorite events of the year is just around the corner: the Fresh Start 5K on January 1, 2024!
This is our tenth Fresh Start 5K and we want everyone who has ever joined us on New Year's Day to join us again, and we want those who have never been to the 5K to make this your inaugural Fresh Start 5K.
Those who register in advance will receive a commemorative t-shirt, runner?s bib, and medal. And to save time on New Year's Day, you can pick up your items on Thursday, December 28 and Friday, December 29 from 10:00 a.m. ? 4:00 p.m. at one of the following four locations:
- Columbia Heights Community Center (1480 Girard Street NW)
- Edgewood Recreation Center (300 Evarts Street NE)
- Deanwood Community Center (1350 49th Street NE)
- Takoma Aquatic Center (300 Van Buren Street NW)
On January 1, in-person registration will begin at 10:00 a.m. and the 5K will officially start at 11:00 a.m.?
This year, in celebration of ten years running, we also have a playlist to help get you moving, grooving, and training for January 1. I look forward to seeing new and familiar faces on New Year?s Day. Happy Holidays, DC!
Sincerely,
