Dear Friend,

In this week's roundup: My vote for the HOME Act, my work to ban China from buying American farmland, and the need to repeal the death tax. That and more – remember to follow my Facebook page by clicking here and my Twitter page by clicking here to stay up-to-date throughout the week!
NO VETERAN SHOULD BE HOMELESS IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

The incredible men and women who answered the call to protect our nation at home and abroad deserve our deepest appreciation and the benefits that they were promised and have earned.

That's why, this week, I proudly voted for the HOME Act to ensure that we uphold our commitment to our servicemembers and that every veteran has a place to call home.

No veteran should be homeless in the United States of America.

SPENDING TIME WITH THE ENTIRE IOWA DELEGATION

On Wednesday, I kicked off my morning with the Iowa delegation!

We’re working together to rebuild our economy, support our farmers, unleash American energy production, and secure our open border.
RISING PRICES AND OUR NATIONAL DEBT CONTINUE TO BURDEN OUR FAMILIES, BUSINESSES, AND COMMUNITIES

On my 36 County Tour, I’ve spoken to families who are struggling to keep up with rising prices, business owners who are facing higher costs and rising interest rates, and folks who are as concerned as I am about our national debt.

Sadly, this is "Bidenomics" at work.

We must end reckless government spending to get our fiscal house in order and rebuild our economy.
Congressman Feenstra says soaring national debt...

HONORING THE BRAVE AMERICANS WHO WERE KILLED AT PEARL HARBOR

Yesterday, we honored and remembered the brave Americans who lost their lives at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.

Their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
WE NEED TO BAN CHINA FROM BUYING AMERICAN FARMLAND

I appreciate Governor Reynolds' work to protect our farmland in Iowa and demand that the Biden administration defend our farmers from foreign land grabs.

As you know, this is a very serious issue to me. That's why I introduced, and the U.S. House of Representatives passed, my Defend America's Rural Energy Act, which bans China from buying American farmland suitable for American energy production, including homegrown Iowa ethanol and biodiesel.

Our foreign adversaries — especially China — must be banned from buying American farmland.

CALLING FOR THE REPEAL OF THE DEATH TAX

The death tax is an unfair and crippling tax on Iowa families, farmers, and main street businesses.

On Wednesday, during a House Ways and Means Tax Subcommittee hearing, I emphasized the need to repeal the death tax, which would deliver financial relief for our families and rural communities and return fairness to the tax code.
WORKING TO SUPPORT OUR BUSINESSES AND GROW OUR WORKFORCE

In November, I introduced the Upward Mobility Enhancement Act, which would help Iowa businesses invest in their employees and strengthen our economy.

By modernizing our tax code, we can support American workers, create good American jobs, and compete with the rest of the world!
HAPPY HANUKKAH TO OUR JEWISH FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS!

I wish our Jewish friends and neighbors in Iowa and across the nation a peaceful and blessed Hanukkah.

May we all seek to find light even in the darkest of times.
ONE LAST THING: COLONEL KEVIN ALONS RETIRES FROM IOWA AIR NATIONAL GUARD AFTER 28 YEARS OF SERVICE

I’m glad that my Agriculture and Manufacturing Liaison — Wes — could attend a retirement ceremony for Colonel Kevin Alons at the 185th Air Refueling Wing in Sioux City.

Col. Alons — who also serves in the Iowa Senate — was the last F-16 pilot to retire from the 185th after 28 years of service.
MY WEEKLY COLUMN: OVERTURNING PRESIDENT BIDEN'S COSTLY MANDATES ON IOWA FAMILIES, BUSINESSES, AND RURAL COMMUNITIES

For the last three years, the Biden administration has been defined by reckless government spending, rising prices, and crushing red tape and regulations. These misguided policies have fueled inflation and harmed our economy – making life unaffordable for our families, increasing operating costs for our main street businesses, and stifling investment in American jobs and manufacturing. Unfortunately, President Biden’s only “solutions” call for more government intervention in the economy and more government mandates to advance his agenda at the expense of American families and businesses. This, of course, is the wrong approach.

During the month of December, House Republicans took action to overturn President Biden’s burdensome mandates on Iowa families, farmers, and small businesses in order to spur economic growth and combat inflation.
