2024 Indiana Republican Diversity Leadership Series Applications Closing Soon!

Hurry! Applications for the 2024 Indiana Republican Diversity Leadership Series (IRDLS) close at the end of the year. That means you only have 24 days to throw your hat in the ring.

When the IRDLS started in 2020, the goal was to increase engagement of under-represented Hoosiers in the Republican Party. Fast forward 3 years, and we have not only increased engagement, we had six IRDLS alumni on the ballot in 2023 and two were victorious!  One example from this year's municipal election is IRDLS alum Ronald Morrell Jr., who became the first Black, Republican mayor in Indiana and the first Black mayor of his hometown, Marion, unseating a two term Democrat incumbent. Ronald called the diversity series life changing and pivotal to his campaign. Additionally, IRDLS alum Tiffanie Ditlevson was elected to the Fishers City Council.

Ronald's and Tiffanie's successes are just the first of what will be a new standard for the IRDLS. Alumni of the diversity series will continue to develop their leadership skills and grow within our party. Governor Eric Holcomb, working alongside Imagine Indiana, launched All Around Indiana, a website that showcases our state’s unique charm through videos and testimonials. 

All Around Indiana is a one-stop shop for videos that tell the Hoosier story in a vibrant and unique way. This series of videos and testimonials will allow the world to see some of the special attractions that make Indiana such a first-rate destination to live, work and play.

What he’s saying: "As I talk to people around Indiana and the world about all we have to offer, I often found myself looking for something to show the person to better demonstrate what I was talking about.”, Gov. Holcomb shared in a press release.

What else happened this week? Gov. Holcomb participated in a fireside chat for Engage Indiana, where the Governor discussed a number of topics related to Indiana's business professionals.

Republican Mayor of Carmel Jim Brainard gave his final "state of the city" address after 28 years of exemplary service to his city. Under Brainard's leadership, Carmel has become a nationally recognized top city to live in in the United States. Mayor Brainard was also honored with multiple awards, an unveiling of a portrait that will hang in Carmel's city hall, and he was presented with one of the state's highest honors, the Sagamore of the Wabash, by surprise guest former Governor Mitch Daniels. 

Mayor Brainard's final state of the city and the recognition he received this week is a testimony to the incredible leadership he has provided. Mayor Brainard also took a moment to recognize newly elected Republican Mayor Sue Finkam. Brainard praised Mayor-Elect Finkam and said he looks forward to what is yet to come.

Mayor-Elect Finkam was one of many successful Republican candidates in the 2023 municipal elections last month. She will look to continue Mayor Brainard's legacy and make sure Carmel remains the standard for Mayors across the country, through Republican principles and leadership.

Governor Eric Holcomb met with mayors from all over Indiana.

Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch was honored with a resolution from the Indianapolis City-County Council.

Secretary Diego Morales spoke at the Johnson County Republican Party luncheon.

Attorney General Todd Rokita's litigation team won 100% of jury trials on the state's behalf. 

Treasurer Daniel Elliot attended the newly appointed State Comptroller's swearing in ceremony.

Comptroller Elise Nieshalla was sworn in to serve.

Senator Mike Braun spoke at the Center Forward Budget Panel.

Senator Todd Young joined ASP to discuss legacy admissions on college campuses.

Congressman Rudy Yakym met with the What Works Caucus to discuss efficient government.

Congressman Jim Banks spoke as the keynote speaker at the American Principles Project.

Congressman Jim Baird's proposed a bill that passed the through the House.

Congresswoman Victoria Spartz met with European and Middle Eastern leaders. 

Congressman Greg Pence and Jim Baird proposed a bill in Congress.

Congressman Larry Bucshon introduced legislation to strengthen U.S. supply chains.

Congresswoman Erin Houchin's spoke with Rep. Mark Alford.
