Friend, it’s been a busy week, and it’s been a while
since I’ve sent an email like this.

The Georgia General Assembly
ended its special session yesterday. I’ve been back on the road today,
and I wanted to share some thoughts on recent news.

Chat GPT vs Ivy
League Presidents

ing?utm_source=rc&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=2023december8hf I’m sure
you’ve seen a clip from this week’s disgraceful testimony by the
presidents of Harvard, MIT, and Penn.

If you haven’t, let’s just say
they disgraced themselves and their universities.

I asked ChatGPT
the same question they were asked — if calling for genocide of Jews is
considered harassment or bullying — and got a more humane answer than
any of these elites offered.

Georgia’s Rebound

President Biden
wants to take credit for the few bright spots in our economy, like
Georgia’s rebound from COVID.

This week, the AJC sent him
reinforcements, saying our state bounced back because of the federal
wrong. What a ridiculous take.
[link removed] I called them
on it — see more here.

County Governments
[link removed] Spent this
morning with the Association County Commissioners of Georgia, talking
about our work to confront problems, solve them, and put consumers
first.

I recorded a quick video after our conversation that you can
watch here or above.

One More Thing:

If you’re reading this, you
probably got an email from me asking for money before the special
session.

I don’t like sending them, and I’m sure you don’t like
reading them, but the fact of the matter is that campaign season never
stops and the same goes for fundraising.

We’re getting closer and
closer to our overall fundraising goal for 2023, but obviously the
window is closing.

can give at this time, I’d really appreciate it.

Thanks for your
continued support!

Commissioner John King got his start as a beat cop with the Atlanta
Police Department. He worked various assignments, including Red Dog and
Organized Crime, before joining the Doraville Police Department. Before
becoming Chief of Police, he served as a Detective and Deputy Chief.
During his 17 years as Police Chief, Commissioner King tackled
corruption, implemented community policing in at-risk neighborhoods,
and cracked down on gang violence through early intervention programs
at local schools.
In addition to his career in law enforcement,
Commissioner King spent four decades serving in the U.S. Army National
Guard — enlisting as a private and retiring as a major general.
He
deployed to Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan — earning the Bronze Star
Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, El Salvador gold medal for achievement,
meritorious service medals, and a NATO award along the way.
Commissioner King retired from active duty in 2023.
As Georgia’s
Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner, Commissioner King has disrupted
the status quo, put Georgia families first, and held the powerful
accountable. He was appointed by Governor Brian Kemp in 2019 and
elected to a full term in 2022, making him Georgia’s first Hispanic
statewide elected official.
