Dear Friend,

When I was a young child in Jamaica, a group of men in my community attacked me on my walk home from school. They threw stones at me and shouted homophobic insults.

I couldn’t fight back because they might come after me and kill me. If I went to the cops, they wouldn’t protect me either. So, I lived in fear.

I lived in fear my whole life until moving to the United States—where I found safety, community, and myself. Watch my story
