ADL Responds to Post-Oct. 7th Reality for Israel and Jews


In the aftermath of Hamas&rsquo; Oct 7th massacre in Israel, ADL continued mobilizing to respond to the crisis on the ground, as well as the spike in global antisemitism, including:
-
Continued diplomatic outreach and

public engagement on social media and elsewhere advocating for the

release of all hostages being held in Gaza;

Highlighting the

continued threats posed by Hamas to Israel, including a
[link removed]
terrorist attack in Jerusalem, where 4 Israelis were killed by two Hamas&rsquo; terrorists;
-
IA mobilized to support the Jewish communal

March for Israel rally on the National Mall in Washington, DC;

Daily outreach and coordination with Jewish communities worldwide, including the J7 (representing US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany and the UK) to discuss trends and best practices;
-
Monitoring and

documenting trends in global antisemitism including a

map of sample incidents across Europe;
-
Providing briefings for ADL staff, volunteer leaders and the general public about the latest from Israel and trends in global antisemitism.

Expanding our collaboration in Latin-America


Ben Sax, ADL Board Chair, Marina Rosenberg, SVP for International Affairs, and Liat Altman, Regional Director for Latin American Affairs,

visited Brazil for the annual convention of the CONIB , the main umbrella organization of the Jewish Community.



During their visit, they met with members and leaders of the Jewish community to provide a perspective on the current state of antisemitism in the US and globally, especially in the post-Oct 7 world. In Sao Paulo, they signed a Memorandum of Understanding with CONIB to collaborate on ADL's education programs and exchange information related to antisemitic incidents. In Brasilia, they met with politicians from the three branches of power, to raise awareness of the dangers of antisemitism in the US, the rise of global antisemitic incidents, and the threat of Iran.

a special webinar on the annual commemoration of Jewish refugees from Arab countries and Iran, with discussions on the significance of the Jewish history and presence across the Middle East and North Africa.

ADL-convened Interparliamentary Task Force to Combat Antisemitism . The roundtable, which featured parliamentarians, major industry leaders in the AI field, Global Special Envoys on combating antisemitism, civil society leaders, and White House officials, examined the impact of AI and GAI on the spread of online misinformation and antisemitism in the wake of the tragic attacks in Israel and the subsequent war in Gaza.
