Dear Friend,
As coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to impact people around the world and confirmed cases grow throughout North America, health and safety are our top priority. Doing everything possible to limit the spread of COVID-19 is vital, but we understand the disastrous financial impact this will have on many of us.
To minimize the damage the virus response will have on musicians and other gig economy workers, AFM is calling on Congress and other lawmakers for immediate action to provide economic relief including expanding leave benefits, unemployment benefits, and an immediate moratorium on evictions, foreclosures, and utility shut-offs.
We are also following current recommendations to help ensure that AFM remains a healthy and safe place for our staff by instituting alternate work arrangements, freezing AFM-related travel and most in-person meetings. We are committed to limiting disruptions to member services, but please be patient as we all work together during this time.
This is an evolving situation that we are closely monitoring. We will update AFM’s COVID-19 Resources as recommendations and other resources develop, but in the meanwhile please stay current with public health guidelines by following the links below.
We hope that you and yours stay healthy and safe.
In Unity,
Ray Hair
AFM International President
