Hi folks,
I wanted to give you the latest update on Tommy Tuberville.
After we demanded for months that he end his reckless, unilateral hold on all military promotions and nominees, he finally relented — releasing the promotions for three-star nominees and below.
This is a significant and welcome development — and we wouldn’t be here without the advocacy of military families, veterans, and folks like you who stood up and spoke out.
But our fight is not over. Tuberville is still needlessly delaying the promotions of ten key positions, including the Vice Chiefs of the Navy and Air Force, which continues to hamper our military readiness and national security.
Folks, I’ve spent my entire career fighting to protect our national security, just like the hundreds of thousands of women serving in uniform right now. I proudly serve on the House Armed Services Committee, where strengthening our military is my top priority.
And unlike Tommy Tuberville, I’ve actually served in our armed forces. I know the sacrifices that servicewomen and military families make to protect our country, and at a bare minimum, our government needs to protect them when reproductive freedom is under attack.
So please, join me in calling on Tommy Tuberville to back down from this ridiculous, partisan stunt once and for all by adding your name to my petition today.
I’ll keep speaking out about this, even if it makes me hoarse. Thanks for standing up with me.
