Last time I was in DC, we sat right here for 7 days straight to demand the Senate vote on the assault weapons ban.

This week I went back to that very same spot as Leader Schumer asked for a Unanimous Consent vote on the Assault Weapons Ban and two other gun safety bills.

This is a HISTORIC moment for our movement to reinstate the federal assault weapons ban – it’s the first time in over a DECADE that the Assault Weapons Ban has been on the Senate Floor.

The thousands of young people and survivors across the country who stood up and demanded change made this happen.

But Senate Republicans filibustered Democrats’ attempt to vote on three MAJOR gun safety bills including the Assault Weapons Ban – it’s despicable.

Then, just hours after Republicans blocked these votes, yet another mass shooting played out – this time at the University of Nevada’s Las Vegas campus.


It’s never been more important that we kick these Republicans OUT of office and build a powerful Democratic Senate Majority that will ban assault weapons once and for all.
