As Bernie said on the floor, Hamas’ horrific attacks on October 7th were a threat to Israel’s security, and Israel has every right to defend itself against future attacks.
However, illegally bombing civilians in Gaza only makes the situation on ground worse, strengthens Hamas’ political position, and endangers the Israeli hostages who are still held captive.
