John,
My introduction to politics came from family discussions with my father – a tradition I continue with my own children today. He was a Councilman in Runnemede, NJ. He saw how important it was for everyone to understand how our democracy functions and how our government works.
Those early talks drove me to pursue a career in education. I’ve spent the last 20 years teaching thousands of students.
I even wrote textbooks for students across the nation about politics:American Democracy Now, A More Perfect Union, Power and Society, and Women in American Politics.
It’s pretty clear Donald Trump and turncoat Republican Jeff Van Drew never read my textbooks (or any books) about our democracy.
Seeing Trump’s corruption and law-breaking makes me angry – Jeff Van Drew’s betrayal of South Jersey fired me up even more.
If you agree that we need educators in Congress—especially those who know how government should work--I need your help.
