John, In less than one week, Dems in the swing states of Ohio (my homestate), Florida and Arizona will head to the polls to have their say in who they want to see face off against our great president, Donald J. Trump. Democrats in Ohio will also be choosing a candidate to run against me in November. John, the stakes couldn't be higher and I won't be caught off guard.
If the projections that we've read are correct, spending in this years election are expected to increase more than 57% over the 2018 midterms – in sum, that would amount to more than $6 billion to be spent on political advertising this election cycle. As a result, I've set a goal to raise $50,000 online before Tuesday to make sure we're ready come November. Will you consider chipping-in a couple bucks to help us get there?
We cannot afford to let Democrats gain ground in the midwest – particularly in Ohio; President Trump won in 2016 by promising to reinvigorate the economy in places where Democrats' policies had left millions struggling to make ends meet – and he's delivered. With 18 electoral votes on the line, you can bet both Republicans and Democrats will spend heavily to come out on top here. Flipping the House and re-electing President Trump begin and end in Ohio, John.
