Friend,

We have some amazing progress to report: Two companies have stepped up
since we launched our petition urging telecom providers to waive internet
and phone bills for at-risk people and stop using data caps during the
coronavirus outbreak. AT&T announced that it will suspend data caps and
Comcast said it will offer two months of free internet to low-income
people.

And over in Congress, Sen. Mark Warner (D–Virginia) is now urging ISPs to
step up.

But while this is great news much more needs to be done to help the
millions of people who are struggling right now.

Keep up the momentum: [ [link removed] ]Tell telecom companies to ensure that people have
reliable access to internet and phone services during the coronavirus
outbreak.

Thanks!

Candace

Tell Comcast, AT&T and More: Waive Internet and Phone Bills for At-Risk People and Stop Data Caps During the Coronavirus Crisis.

Friend,

The coronavirus pandemic is increasingly moving the economy, health care, and even social contact online. The last thing people need to worry about right now is their internet bill.

Social distancing will mean relying almost entirely on at-home internet and phone access to reach the outside world. During a crisis like this, internet and phone access should be accessible public services like water and electricity.

Make the demand: Tell companies like AT&T, Comcast, T-Mobile and Verizon to ensure that people have reliable access to internet and phone services during the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak.

Prices are so high that more than 4 million households with school-age children don’t have broadband at home. Only 56 percent of households making less than $20,000 have home broadband, and low-income Black and Hispanic households are even less likely to have home internet than their low-income white counterparts. With schools closing in communities across the country, the time to pressure broadband companies to do the right thing is NOW.

As the United States struggles to contain the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak, reliable access to internet and phone services is more critical than ever.

Please, take action with us today.

P.S. Phone and internet companies shouldn’t be raking in profits during the coronavirus outbreak without doing anything to help the people who are most at risk right now. Tell AT&T, Comcast and other big telecom companies to waive internet and phone bills and stop using data caps during the coronavirus crisis.
