We envision justice as healing, safety, and accountability that repairs for everyone.
Building this vision requires a different approach. To start, we have to listen to the communities that bear the brunt of violence and ask them what they need to be safe. They know!
Safety is not just the absence of violence — it’s the presence of quality schools and programs for kids, good-paying jobs, access to health care and affordable housing, and so much more. These things, historically denied to Black communities, make everyone feel like they can thrive.
So when we launch Trauma to Trust in a new community or partner with local grassroots leaders and organizations, we ask first what they need. Next year, we will be working with more allies and partners than ever before because our model works.
Join us as we begin the next chapter of our bold work.
