CHAPTER HIGHLIGHTS
OCA - Central Virginia
On November 11th, OCA-Central Virginia hosted their Asian American Youth Leaders Program for Asian American high school students, in which they developed their leadership skills, learned how to be advocates, and learned about Asian American history.

OCA - Greater Tucson Chapter
APA Y Advocate Leadership Conference was offered at Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) Asian Pacific American and Refugee Student Services (APARSS) on November 3, 2023. Thirty-five (35) students from various high schools were exposed to cultural identity and practical skills to prepare for leadership roles. A big shout out to these community partners for their time and expertise:
* YWCA of Southern Arizona—Getting Involved with Your Community: Teen Court
* OCA Greater Tucson—AAPI History in Arizona
* OCA Greater Tucson—Leadership Step by Step
* Junior Achievement—Managing to $1 Million

Our ACP Fellow, Lady Elli, presented the FCC opportunity that provides internet subsidy grants to qualifying individuals and families. Lunch was provided by eHotPot.
OCA - Wisconsin
OCA-Wisconsin invited Curtis Chin, author of "Everything I learned, I Learned in a Chinese Restaurant" to Boswell Books in Milwaukee for a reading. It was a delightful hour where more than 60 attendees listened as Curtis read a few passages from his book and Board member Z Zakaria did a great job moderating with insightful (and some fun) questions. Audience members added their own questions and many ended up purchasing Chin's memoir.

OCA-Wisconsin sponsored a bus trip to Chicago for the seniors and their family. It is hard for seniors to drive especially in bigger cities. They enjoyed the outing and visiting the Garfield Park Conservatory and Chinatown. Here are pictures of our seniors and their family on the bus, and our seniors and their family enjoying dinner in Chicago.
