Isn’t that number heartbreaking Valued Supporter?

It truly breaks my heart to have a waitlist at all. But having over 500 families requesting help and us simply not having the resources to reach them – with Christmas day just around the corner? Devastating.

There are currently 184 families on our list that do not have a pram. They don’t have the luxury of simply walking out the door with their little ones to pick up the daily essentials from the shops. Or to easily bundle up their kids and get to the doctors. They can’t escape the chaos of the house and walk to the local park for playground time. They don’t have what we call a “freedom machine” – but we really want them to have one. Can you help?

Can you really believe that we have 99 parents who have no idea where their newborn will sleep when they bring them home? There is no cot sitting waiting in a nursery, ready for a newborn to snuggle into. We all have many things going on in our lives in the middle of this Festive season – what to buy a friend who has everything? What to buy for Christmas day lunch? But just imagine if you were one of the 99 parents on our waitlist who are wondering how to make sure their baby has a safe night’s sleep without a cot. Can you help?

Big ticket items can be a stretch for many who are about to become parents. For thousands in Victoria, buying a car seat is simply a stretch too far. At Geelong Mums, we give out car seats and boosters to parents and carers in need all year round – knowing how vital it is for babies and children to travel safely. This year we still have 155 families left on our waitlist for a car seat. Although an essential item – part of a baby’s life from the day they leave hospital – car seats are expensive when on a budget. Can you help?

There may be 17 sleeps until Santa arrives but – frighteningly – there are only 10 working days for us to source, clean, assemble, pack and deliver the items on our waiting list. We urgently need your help to clear the list now. Your gift will help 515 families have the essentials they need to allow their children to thrive.

Our waiting list doesn’t just include those needing prams, cots or car seats.

Families are also desperately waiting for clothing bundles, toiletries, toys and books.

Your gift of $59 today really will change a child’s life. [[link removed]]

The festive season is a time of joy, togetherness and celebration for most. But for those on our waitlist, it’s a time of anxious waiting. All they want for Christmas is essential items to allow their child to thrive. Without your support these children will, quite simply, miss out. Please help clear our waitlist now.

We are thrilled that you are engaged with Geelong Mums and hope that you can support us with a donation today. Without our amazing supporters we simply wouldn't be able to help thousands of babies and children every year. This Festive Season, give a gift that really counts, donate today and change a child's life.

Thank you so much for your ongoing support,

Ruth Holdaway MBE

Chief Executive Officer

P.S. Donating today to help clear our waitlist would be an amazing gift. If you want to help make sure our waitlist doesn’t keep growing after the Festive Season, please become a monthly donor and join our Give to Grow community.
