I am pleased to report that the 2024 race for the Colorado National Committeewoman position is starting to heat up.  At this time, I’d like to introduce you to our three candidates ...  Vera Ortegon (Incumbent), Christy “Ruckus” Fidura, and Laurel Imer.  I had the pleasure of meeting with each of them this past weekend and their campaign efforts are well underway.

Below you will find a short bio and pictures of our candidates*.  Congratulations and best of luck to all 3 ladies and thank you for taking your personal time to stay involved and run for the position of National Committeewoman.

Respectfully,
Anna Ferguson
Secretary, COGOP

FYI: The election of our National Committeeman and woman will be held at the State Assembly on April 6, 2024.  The voting members will be the 1000’s of delegates that will be elected at the 2024 county caucus’ or county assemblies.
Vera Ortegon is a Colombian-born microbiologist, a small-business owner, a mother, a former city councilwoman, and die-hard Republican. First elected to the RNC in 2016, her representation of Colorado is one of the greatest honors of her life. Some of her accomplishments include:
  • Acting as an “intervenor” in a signature-matching lawsuit brought by Vet Voice Foundation in Colorado.
  • Appointed to a ten person US/GOP delegation to Israel to speak with Prime Minister Netanyahu, some of his Generals, and local business leaders.
  • Appointed to a six person US/GOP delegation to Taiwan to speak with President Tsai and her cabinet.
  • Opened a Hispanic Community Center in CD3 and CD8 to help local candidates with Hispanic outreach.
  • Frequent television guest on Telemundo, Univision, and other Spanish-speaking media outlets.
  • Involved in bringing former President Donald J. Trump to various rallies throughout Colorado, including Pueblo and Colorado Springs.
I’m the daughter of two US Army veterans, a Colorado native, small business owner, wife, home-schooling mom, and a proud America First Patriot.  I took up the fight to bring Colorado back to the beautiful and free state I grew up in, for my daughter, Jasper.

I’m a founding member of the Pueblo County Patriots, a Pueblo County GOP executive committee member, and vice chair of the 27-county Third Congressional District.

I’ve been involved in many efforts to “right the ship” at local and state level.  If elected the next Colorado Republican National Committeewoman, I will work with the same enthusiasm, diligence, and integrity to represent the Colorado Republican Party as I have in Pueblo County – where we swept 9 out of 11 local races in November 2023.

Colorado deserves a representative at the National level that will communicate, be accessible, and work for the people.
I am running to represent Colorado as the next Republican National Committeewoman, advocating for a unified, America First, Conservative, Grassroots approach for the Republican National Committee. With a five-year commitment to President Trump's campaign in Colorado, a 2016 Presidential Elector, and a 2020 RNC National Delegate appointed by the 45th President, I bring substantial experience. As a two-time candidate, a Colorado GOP Executive Committee member, a State Central Committee Member, and a respected grassroots leader in Jefferson County, my commitment to advancing conservative values is unwavering.

Approaching 2024, we need America First conservative leaders on the National Committee. It is imperative to usher in a new era by replacing Ronna McDaniel, engaging Gen Z, increasing grassroots participation, and securing our elections to prevent a recurrence of 2020. With over 15+ endorsements from leaders across the state and country, I invite you to join me. Together, let's Make the RNC Great Again! Learn More: https://ImerForColorado.com
