Like providers at all Planned Parenthood health centers, Yvonne is incredibly busy. Answering questions, writing prescriptions, providing STI screenings and Pap tests and every other kind of care a patient might need. Her already-difficult job is even harder since the Supreme Court allowed states to ban abortion and took away our right to control our own bodies.
Here's the reality: State bans have forced some health centers to stop providing abortion or shut down entirely. Nearly 21 million women — plus more trans and nonbinary people — now have to travel outside their home state for the fundamental right to control their own lives.
The providers that remain — like Yvonne's health center in Flossmoor — are inundated and doing everything they can to fill the gap.
As national director of abortion care and access at Planned Parenthood, it's my job to make sure that everyone, everywhere can get the care they need. That's only possible thanks to the hard work and dedication of people like Yvonne — and because of donations from people like you.
Your donation today will power our work to expand, restore, and protect access to care. It will help patients get the high-quality care without judgment they deserve. And it will be help Planned Parenthood continue to build a future where everyone has access to care.
Thank you for being a part of this work.
Jen Castle, National Director of Abortion Care and Access
