Wolfs Crossing update

Due to utility delays, the Village's Wolfs Crossing improvement project at Harvey Road is now expected to reopen to traffic by the end of December. We are working with the contractors, Illinois Department of Transportation and ComEd to open the road as soon as possible.

Leaf collection now complete
Our Public Works team has completed?leaf collection [ [link removed] ] for the year.
Groot, the Village's waste contractor, has stopped collecting landscape waste until the spring. The Village encourages residents to use other environmentally friendly [ [link removed] ] ways to dispose of any remaining leaves on your property.?Place leaves in and around plant beds, under trees and shrubs to provide nutrients for the soil and insulation. You can also use a mulching lawn mower to help clean up remaining leaves add nutrients to your lawn.

Tree census
GLUFM
From December through February, Great Lakes Urban Forestry Management (GLUFM) staff will collect data from all trees on Village parkways and public property. The information gathered will be used to create an Urban Forestry Management Plan to help increase species diversity, improve tree health and reduce risk.
GLUFM staff will be measuring trees and recording information throughout the community. Staff can be identified by the company name on their vest and vehicles. This project is being done in cooperation with and partially funded by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and The Morton Arboretum.
